West End Town Centre Team - Over 800 Arrests!

Good afternoon, 

I just wanted to share with you some of our latest performance figures and good news stories, since the creation of the 3 West End Town Centre teams in September 2024, we have made an amazing 846 arrests!

For September, October and November 2025, we made 203 arrests which is a 15% rise compared to the same period in 2024 and November was a record breaker for us with 82 arrests made in 1 month, although PC Jake Shepherd from TCT A is responsible for 20 of those arrests, a proper thief taker!

The offences that the teams have arrested for include theft, robbery, shoplifting, sexual assault, assaults as well as possession of offensive weapons and possession of drugs. 

Aside from the arrests, the teams have found missing children, safeguarded vulnerable females, recovered stolen property and positively engaged with thousands of members of the public and our local businesses.

We have worked closely with all of our trusted partners and critical friends with information and intelligence sharing, partnership patrols and joint working at engagement evets. 

Over the past few weeks, we have arrested someone armed with a meat cleaver, smashed an Eastern European pickpocketing gang, utilised facial recognition to identify and arrest previously unknown offenders, been first at scene to stabbings and have received some incredible feedback and compliments from our community. 

The teams are working extremely hard to rebuild trust and make the West End a safer place for all who visit, commute, reside and work here, together we are making a difference and a positive change!
